I wanted to put a booth in my garage so that I had a clean place to paint and sandblast in so that I could keep the dust in there and not all over the place.
My plan was to make it out of 2x3's or x4's 6' wide 8' long 7' high. The bottom 2' will be covered in plywood so that if it gets bumped it wont rip the plastic, the top section will be sealed in plastic. I am going to put it as close to my garage door that I can use that to get in fresh air.
For ventilation I am going to use my shopvac with a HEPA filter for sandblasting and I wont do much while painting, because I dont want any dust flying around and landing on the paint. Here is a pic of it-
Later on, or depending on the price I wanted to sheet it with durarock(cement board) so that I could use it also as a welding/cutting area, but I will do that later on. It would be put together mostly with screws so that I could take it down if need be, number the sections and things.
Also if anyone has any parts that they need cleaned I will do it. Suggestions ideas input?? _________________ NE Gang member

Dont sand blast and paint in the same place.
Depending on the paint it might melt the plastic.
You need a air removal system for painting or overspray will go everywhere. this Also means you need a way to replace the air just as fast as you take it away.
You need good lighting in a booth _________________ Derek E. "FL250Modder"

I will clean and vacuum up all the sand before I paint, and I am using spray paint, and if it melts the plastic at all I will replace it. But my major problem is the air, I think that it should be fine with just the door being open but I might use some fans or something. Suggestions?? _________________ NE Gang member

If you are using spray paint your not realy gonna have to worry about using a booth... but what ever... for airflow... have a hole somwhere with a filter in it _________________ Derek E. "FL250Modder"
