I recently broke both axle shafts and want to replace them with stronger axles. My stock cv joints are the 3 ball type and want the new 6 ball type.

Does anyone know where I can buy the stronger 6 ball axle shafts and how much? I contacted Roketa and they sell replace axles for
$150.00; Awesome Buggy sells them for $129.00. Both could not tell me if they are the 3 or 6 ball axle shafts.

I spoke with Awesome buggy yestarday about some other items and mentioned axles to them. David the owner does know about the axle situation and is visiting China with in a week or so and will be returning with more sets of the six inner ball and cage. They do work well, and I will be buying an extra set for myself as soon as he gets them in.

I have been hunting for axels for about 2 months. The guys on BN have been great with info!

I have found two types. One type is the "six ball" for about $150, depending on where you go. The other type is a VW Type 1 CV mod for about $550/set.

The drawback to the VW mod is that you need to provide your old axels to be modified, and it depends on what shape they're in. But, they look like you'll never have to by them again.

I'm still interested on hearing what anybody else thinks or good/bad experiences before I shell out the $$.

I'll post my results when I get it figured out.

I contacted Awesome Buggy and they do not have any of the 6 ball cv axles in stock. They don't expect to have any for several weeks. I also contacted Goldenvale Inc., who is a distributor for Roketa and they only have the stock axles for $150.00.

Does anyone know where I can purchase the 6 ball cv axles or after market axles? If so, how much?

I talked to joe @ Desertoys.com he had axles in stock back in november when I needed them. he was not sure if they were six point himself, so I ended up going w/ awesomebuggy becasue I knew that others got their six pointers from there. But Joe told me his shop is like 3 miles from the main roketa warehouse in california and he can hit it up pretty quickly.

I contacted Venom Motors and they only have stock Roketa axles for $169.00 each.

When I contacted the main Roketa office in Ontario, CA, they told me they have the axles but do not know if any modifications have been made to the axles.

Does anyone know if the newer Roketa axles have 6 ball inner and outer cv joints?

Does anyone else offer the 6 ball cv axles or after market axles?
