great engines for a home built swap.

you can find these in almost any salvage yard for bikes. trust me they get totaled all the time. even ebay would work.
most would have a reverse!!! unlike sport bike swaps
some are shaft and some chain drive but that is a easy fix either way

shifters
Yamaha Banshee 350 twin. (2 stroke 110+mph) NO REVERSE
Yamaha Raptor 700 (110+ mph 4 stroke)
Yamaha Raptor 350 (85+ mph 4 stroke)
Yamaha yfz 450r (85+ mph 4 stroke) NO REVERSE
Kawasaki kfx450R (85+ mph 4 stroke)
Polaris Predator 500/outlaw 500 outlaw 525 outlaw 450r mxr
Honda trx 450
suzuki 400
Yamaha Big Bear 400/250 not fast but very tough

Automatics
Kawasaki KFX700
Yamaha Grizzly/ Kodiak all sizes
Kawasaki Prairie / brute force 70+mph
Polaris sportsman all sizes
Honda with electronic shift, steering wheel mountable

just a second thought for those with the headache via china engine. couple hundred bucks and you can swap to mini buggy all the way to a mid size buggy.

Thats right, it wasn't all that hard to do. I bought a cheap atv to do my swap. That way you know you have everything you need to do the swap. If you get just the engine, you still need all the electrical stuff to go along with it. I then parted out the rest of the atv for parts and sold them on ebay and got all of my money back and then some.
