There are two 35w lamps on these 150cc buggies. The stock 6-pole stator will not supply much more than 70w that these lights draw. The lighting is directly powered off the stator AC and is not connected to the battery. The battery is used strictly for starting the engine. You have the following options get better illumination:
1. Put the 35w H3 bulbs in better large-reflector light housings
2. Go to one high wattage off road light under 75w
3. Add an additional battery that is isolated from the electrical system to run alternate lighting and recharge the battery on an external charger
4. Upgrade the stator to a 8-pole or 11-pole for a 90w or 125w capacity

The GY6 based buggies he is looking at will not sport the load of two 55w lights in stock configuration. I do not know CN250 based buggies capacities.

One of my factory bulbs burnt out within two weeks fo buying
my buggy. I went down to wallyworld and bought two 55watt
bulbs, wired them in and so far, with only three night rides
about 8 miles from my house getting back home after a day of
riding, I've had no problems with my battery getting weak. Now
that does'nt mean I won't. Just to be on the safe side, I plan to
purchase an 11pole stator. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I also
have three 18inch led stick lights hooked up directly to the
harness going to the passenger side headlamp. They come on
whenever I power on the headlights. They're installed on the
underside of my rollcage and with the bikini top on it, riding at
night makes for a pretty cool ceiling above my head. And finally,
about a month after buying my buggy I had to replace the bad
chinese battery that came in it. Again, wallyworld! I have a love
hate relationship with that place :?

The lighting by default is run directly off the stator and does not need or use the battery. You will find those 55w lamps are not producing nearly the output they should with your stock stator. I am waiting for my 11-pole stator and will report back with some measurements once installed.

Yeah, I noticed they did'nt seem as bright as they should be. I
did'nt buy 55watt intentionally to have brighter lights, It was
all I could find at the time. Im sure the 11pole will make a huge
difference. I can't wait to get mine. Once installed, I'll be able
to install my 2000lb winch. Then there will be no stopping the

There will be some wiring modifications needed to run the 11-pole verses 8-pole, 6-pole or 4-pole stators that plug right in. Buggy Depot just released their first draft of the install instructions. I will validate these instructions once my unit is installed.
