i agree with gottie i have a seperate battery for winch and a 12volt adapter to plug things into it and i use a trickle charger on it to keep it up
they say you will take a stator out by hooking these battery together to keep them both charged,it will just work the stator to death.
it shows that you have a six pole stator in your roketa

i am wondering why everyone is using dry cell batteries. Is it because of the safety issue off roll over or are do they just last better?

Pretty much the main reason is the spilling of toxins but it also is better used for our applications than wet batteries because they do not require liquid water or sulfuric acid so they can be easily contained and transported at a lighter weight than wet batteries.

Okay. I am guessing then that it dosn't take many amps to start these things because I have yet been able to find one that has a large cranking amps.

I am just concerned about which battery to use as a second battery because I have a warn 1500# winch I am planning on using and I have to make sure I have enough amps to supply the winch.

What are other people using?

I love this place, being able to share ideas and create a functional buggy that we all can enjoy.
