Well, It turns out that we have a Champion Weight Lifter among us.
Mr. Rick Duncan set a Texas State record in the Bench Press in the Men's Master (47-53 year old) class with a Bench Press of 490.5 lbs.
The record setting lift took place at the WABDL-USPLabs World Bench Press and Dead Lift Championships held in Anaheim, CA on November 15th -20th of this year.

I'll lift up the back end of my Yerfs two to three feet when stuck, but there's there no way I could bench press it. Impressive...

Wow...thanks guys.
I didn't have a particularly good meet, in fact I kinda sucked! I didn't do anywhere near what I should have. I had major stage fright from the really big crowd watching. I was so nervous that my sides started hurting when they called my name. My goal was to use this meet as a tuneup towards a world record (567) and to get into the 500's. I planned on doing 473, then 507, and 534 last. But I got 2 red lights on the first lift cause I popped my butt up a little and had to do the lift again. At that point, I was informed that if I could just get anything over 485, I'd probably win, so I went for an easy 490. I shouldn't have won, but I did cause the current world record holder bombed all 3 attempts. While I didn't do the weight that I should have, it was enough to win. And while I'm disappointed at not breaking 500, it is kinda sweet being the 47-53 250lb WABDL World Champion for 2007. I have 2 more shots at it before I turn 54
this summer. I'll fix a few technical details and won't make the same mistakes again. More to come.
