Hi All,
I have a 90cc automatic transmission on an Xtreme ATV. A while back I was riding it and then while I was accelerating the engine would race high but would not shift in the next gear. I kept riding the quad thinking it would shift into the next gear but then after a while I heard another noise and the transmission slipped and the ATV would not move but the engine ran. I talked to a couple of people online about the atv and they told me that I had a GY6 engine and that I should take off the cover and describe and take a picture of inside. I did just that and noticed that the clutch that was in their had fell apart because two rivets had fell off and then I noticed that the belt that was on the quad was streched and looked like it had endured extreme heat. Their are a couple of numbers I have-The first one is the vin # of the machine is as followed-XF-147QMF and on the engine is as followed **03040476* The belt that is melted # is 710 17. I also have a couple of measurements of the crankcase- The diameter of just the clutch is 4''. The depth is 1''. The gear box measurements are 16'' across... and a depth of 6''. Diameter of the whole in the actual cluch is 1 1/4in. I was wondering if the clutch could have caused the engine to stay in one speed or is that another part that would need to be fixed. Thanks for reading.... Hope you can HELP!!! Thanks
Colin
*I am talking about the left hand side of the ATV while looking towards the handlebars!
