Does anyone know what axles and CV's are in the GK-32 800cc Mine was made in Jan of 2007. The number on the Axles is 07-3 and I do not know what that stands for and whether or not I have the tripod CV's or the 6 ball or maybe 7 ball cv joints.
I need to get more ground clearance and was looking to put longer shocks on the rear and stap it.
Took the shock loose last night and jacked where the rear trailing arm was about 1/4 inch off the frame and this will give me 11 inches ground clearance, just what I need. But need to make sure about the Cv's before I do this mod, don't want to do this with Tripod CV's for sure.

Take off the clamp and look. You can use plastic straps to redo them. The matal straps may actually slice the boot after a while. I am qurious to hear also. _________________ 90cc Atv

These are 6 ball inner and 6 ball outers. Glad to find this out. but still can really raise the rear anymore since when I do the CV is just about to come apart. The Inner Race and Balls are just about to slide out of the outter race. Thanks mentioning removing the boots and looking.
The axle needs to be about 1/2 to 3/4 fo an inch longer to keep the inner race and ball at a safe distance from the end of the outer race. I'm not sure but this could create another issue with plunge, but I'm not sure. I think maybe I will just re-route that low hanging shifter.
Are there any aftermaket shifting road designed to go to the side of the trans instead of under it?
Thanks,

Take a look at how much thread you have on your outboard CV inside the wheel. If you have 1/2 thread beyond nut, then remove your CV axle and and redrill the cottor pin hole on the outboard (wheel side) and simply add a spacer on the shaft of the outboard CV. You could also use a locking nut but a cotter pin is safer. Ideally you want the spacer to be the same outboard diameter of CV shaft where the CV shaft seats against the bearing. A machine shop could make these for you or some large washers might work. This will give you the 1/2" you need. The other alternative is to make a custom set of CV axles by welding a VW Type 1 flange to your Inboard CV and Outboard CV. You can use a stock VW Type I shaft and CVs to connect the two flanges. Make sure you do your math correctly regarding how much you cut your CVs down so you have the engagement you need. Good Luck
