HELP!!
Need to understand the timing procedure for the 800cc Roketa motor.

I have a 2007 Fuel Injected motor. I have tried setting the timing with a timing light. My problem is it appears I need to disable the timing advance mechanism. I am assuming this is an eletronic advance. How do I disable the advance?

I set mine by ear a few weeks ago. Last night I put the light on it to check it and found out it was running like 20+degrees at idle. I turned it back to 10deg BTDC and it runs REALLY bad. I have reset it back by ear, but would like to really set it.

azminied,
I had the same issue setting the time on my Gk-32 EFI. Have you tried setting the time to about 30 degrees at 3000 rpms.
I had been trying to set the timing at idle to around 9-11 degrees but this did not work out so well either.
But when I set the timing to 30 @ 3000 rpms it ran much better and with wierd thing is after it ran for a few minutes I checked the timing at idle and it was only 10 degress or so. Before I set the timing at 3000 rpms was only advancing to 22 degrees at 3000 rpms with an idle timing of 9 degrees. I guess the computer resets the timing at idle?? anyway it runs fine with this setting , give it a try.
later
keith
