Have already replace the thin "yellow/green" wire with a much thicker one. It was working great for a while. Then one day the starter would click but not turn over.
Decided to replaced my starter with one from my brother's GK-32 after being unsuccessfull at the local PepBoys...it turned over right away.
Wanting to start the damb thing I decided to drop the defective unit on the garage floor a couple of times. Reinstalled it and sure enough it started.
Don't know how long it will last but at least I can move it around untill I get a new one. Who would have thought a starter could run close to $150.
Thanks again for your help...Don't know what I'd do with out this resource.
I can get you a starter cheeper than that e-mail spike2@peak.org. Later W.C. _________________ E-mail spike2@peak.org

If you want to save a bunch of $$ (dont we all), you should be able to find an electric motor repair shop that can repair or rewind the motor for you. I took a blower motor from my old house there, and they rebuilt it for about $30. Electric motors are really simple. basically bearings, brushes, and a bunch of wire wound around a hunk of metal. Usually the only things that go bad are the bearings, and sometimes the brushes. You could probably rebuild it yourself, but gotta be careful, cuz there are some parts that will "jump" out when you take it apart, and can be a real pain if you don't know where they go.... _________________ 800cc Roketa GK-25
