Sad news indeed. It always seems that the good ones are called early. Words usually flow freely for me, but I can't seem to find any right now. Sincerest condolences Sue.

There's so much I want to say, but I'm not sure what to say.
Sad, shocked, dismayed...
Steve helped me with so much in the short time that I knew him. His passion became my passion, became my son's passion. That's what he wanted... To get people together to share in his pleasure about something so simple as a little dune buggy.
The memeories that he helped me create with my son (ACBlind) are priceless. To think of the impact that he's had on people is tremendous and shocking at times. To think that his little site was the reason that distant people became friends. The impact he has made in each of our lives is the thing that dreams are made of. He's helped people create businesses that have changed families.
Think about it... his passion in this sport/industry has allowed my son (ACBlind) and I to develop lifetime memories. He helped me teach my son. How can I pay him back for that....
This is the stuff that Steve and I talked about one day in the only phone call I ever shared with him. That's what the man was about, having fun doing something he was passionate about. It's the kind of stuff that I hope to pass on to my kids. I think Steve has helped me do that. What do you give a man for helping you do that.... Respect, gratitude? It doesn't seem like that's enough.
Steve will be missed by many and forgotten by few.
Me and my family will pray for him and his family.
It's 1:00 am, I've been up for 20 hours, I've got to get up in 3 hours and all I want to do right now is go wake my son, give him a kiss, a hug and go ride our buggies together.
With a heavy heart,
Chris Dierkens

Like many others, I'm at a loss for words here. Steve created something special here and this hobby has brought me many great memories with my own kids. If it wasn't for this place I never would have got into buggies and this site has probably been the single biggest factor in the success of the buggies.
My condolences to the family.
RIP Steve.

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Steve at the 2006 bash, and he was a great guy, well deserving of all the good things that have been said on his behalf...He will truly be missed and left an indention on the buggy world that will remain for many years to come...If he was this committed to his hobby, I can only imagine how much of an impact he made on his family and others that dealt with him on a daily basis...
My prayers go out to his family....You are truly blessed to have been a part of his life, even though you may feel somewhat cheated at this point due to his sudden passing at such an early age....Life is short, even when we live to be old, and unpredictable as well.....Sometimes we take life for granted, forgetting that dying is just as much of life as living, but it really brings things down to earth when something like this happens, and helps me to realise what is important....It makes me hug my wife and kids a little bit harder and tell them I love them with a little more meaning, just by being reminded today or even this minute could be my last.....

2 years ago when I came upon this site and was looking for my first buggy, Steve was the first one to help. He was always helpful and I'm thankful for his direction. My thoughts and prayers go out to Steve's family. _________________ Ron

My loss of words and those of other members only shows how much Steve has touched our lives. He was truly an inspiration to many. His passion will live on for a long time to come. Thank you Steve for bringing so many people together in a sport that many would not have know otherwise. You will be missed.
