If you ever get a chance, would you mind shooting some pics of your shirter and the trans connection of the cables please ???
I'd like to make it work like we're used to....
Don't want to confuse my kids anymore than they already are....
Does the 1100 use a two cable shifter and does the tranny connection both rotate and move up from the tranny ??? _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two are dead"

Have you talked to Sean about this? My wife can barely drive stick as it is, I don't need anything to make it harder for her. I'll let you know how mine shifts when I get it. Maybe (hopefully) you just accidently got a European shifter setup. _________________ LJ Tech 1100cc Sand Sport -- Working the bugs out...

I spoke to Sean Sunday and he is aware. Sounds like they are all coming like this.
Did he say what he planned to do about it? It's probably not a show-stopper, but a person buying a buggy in the U.S. could reasonably expect a normal shift pattern. Hopefully there's a simple fix. _________________ LJ Tech 1100cc Sand Sport -- Working the bugs out...

I think this will be a pretty easy fix....Just have to make time to look into it more....
For the money, if I have to put a couple dollars into it, I'm still way less into it compared to anything else available...
I knew going in that this buggy is more of a "tinker's" kart as opposed to others that I call "plug-n-play"...I wasn't willing to pay the price.... _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two are dead"

Shift patterns are the same worldwide. The steering position may change from left to right, but the shift pattern remains the same. 1st to front left, 2nd to back left, 3rd to front right, etc.

OK thanks for pointing that out, I thought that might be the case with the shift pattern.
The only other explanation for the different shift pattern is the engine is turned in a different position. Or because its installed in the rear instead of the front of the vehicle for which it was originally designed for.
Either the gears will have to be changed inside the transmission or elsewhere if possible.
I do not think the gears will need to be changed, it is a linkage issue.
Joyner's 1600 has the same issue, they just came up with a different solution...although Jeff (redyfz450) still thought it was clumsey and would take some getting used to.
If you get a chance to look at the Joyner 1600 linkage set up, you might get some ideas.
good luck
