So I guess that is the point of shimming, it just makes the spring
stiffer? I will try anything once if it works. I ride my buggy like a
trials bike.......sloooooooow and to the steepest hill I can find. I've had
4 wheeler guys just shake their heads while I climb what they think I
can't make it up. I don't care if it goes 30 miles an hour or not, I just want that tractor like torque, kinda like a Jeep. Laughing

I don't think it did a lot because it is the original size mentioned here... not that big. I need to try a bigger one.

Am I correct in assuming that this mod is for the stock spring and not for the performance spring that folks are selling now?

With the extra resistance on the secondary pulley, will it increase the amount of time from 0 to top speed (ie: time from low to high gear)? If yes, then would I need lighter rollers in the primary to counter this.

Are there any left handed threads in the cvt that I should be aware of before I go wrenching in the wrong direction?

Sorry if these are dumb questions; I'm just tring to make sure I have a firm grip on the concept before I rip into my cvt.

Thanks in advance.

It will reduce the time from 0- top speed, as it will keep the engine at a higher rpm where it creats more hp. My testing shows lower weight rollers (8-10) compliment the spring well. With the new spring, no shims are suggested. PM or e mail me if I can help, springs, clutch and rollers are in stock. Carl@bergmansauto.com
