I have a 99 Prairie 400 that I've been contemplating on. It's water cooled and shaft driven with hi/low/reverse. Only question I have is how to shorten the shaft. Anybody seen a prairie converted? PS: I only paid $1000 for it 3yrs ago, it had been rolled pretty good. Plenty of power, cheap price, and automatic tranny. What more could I ask for?

talked with a guy yesterday about using a honda rubicon engine in a homebuilt buggy. it's electric shift on fly tranny with it's own differential. has full forward/neutral/reverse. 3 power takeoff modes, dont know the HP, but with a few air/fuel mods, said to be a beast. any thoughts on using these?

I like those pictures!! Got a couple questions though..

1. The CV/axles - any idea where they could be found? is it pieces you assemble on a shaft of your choice?

2. Hows the brake work on that? it is outbound of the differential, but I only see it on one side??

3. Where can one find those differentials and what poer can they handle??

I could see one of those differentials being coupled to a 4stroke motorcycle engine or something with a CVT. then on the shoft between the engine and diff you could mount a flywheel to use an elect starter to give yourself reverse....
