I know that he has been saying that for a long time now, but I've been busy with other stuff and just got around to trying it the other day. With a .175" thick shim, my kart accelerates much better and pulls my trailer and climbs hills easier. I think .250" would be just about right for my kart. It increased my top speed a little,I feel it was because of the gumbo 26 inch tires when my buggy came with 18s originally.I feel I was starting to get some slippage because my gear ratio and the rotational weight of the tires was a drastically changed.
