Although I bought it primarily for my wife and son to go off roading with me on my dirt bike, I must say that our new GK-06 is awesome. We bought to explore the trails and roads around our mountian home in Crown King, Az. I was a little leary at first as our house is at around 6000' and I didn't know how it would handle the altitude. I must say, a little prep goes a long way. I had it at our home in Phoenix for a week before taking it up and I performed the following mods/preventative maintanence. I installed 15gm sliders, pulled the airbox and ran a UNI filter on the stock intake elbow, pulled some exhaust packing, changed the oil to Royal Purple synthetic and removed just about every bolt and reinstalled with Locktite anything I thought would come loose. I was going to rejet, but decided to wait. The buggy ran fantastic at altitude. At one point, I had the buggy at the top of the mountain myself. I am a larger person( 6'6" and 240 lbs) and it pulled fairly hard all the way up to 7100' altitude. Needless to say, I am very impressed. Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know how good the Roketas can be. By the way, on the way up the mountain I clocked my wife averaging around 35 mph going up a fairly steep grade that started at 3200' up to 6000' with my GPS following her.
A little homework goes a long way. Does your wife and kid love it? _________________ Custom Buggy http://www.buggynews.com/topic13417.html

I'm glad to hear someone with a very positive review on the GK-06. I just bought one and I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival!! I already have a UNI filter, 15g rollers, 1000lb torque springs (anyone think that might be too low?), and main spring ready to install as soon as I break it in a little and get a feel for how it runs stock. My only concern ordering this buggy was the open differential....
Yeah, the wife and kid loved it. They had the best time on it. We were mostly driving over fairly rough logging roads and back roads, but the open diff never gave me problem. How it will fair under extreme rough trail use will remain to be seen. I am just impressed at the climbing power up some pretty steep grades. And the suspension is awesome. Handled the rough stuff great and soaked it all up pretty well. According to my brother in law who was following me on his quad, a couple of times I had the buggy 2-3 feet in the air off of whoops in the road and I never felt it. It was great. I only wish they made a manual transmission for these engines.
A lot of the outcome on these goes with the prep work you do before taking it on serious rides. Congrats on a well running buggy...
There are quite a few dealers these days for Roketa... hopefully the parts supply will be better than it had been in the past. That is the one downfall on these... support and parts. If you are a resourceful person, it's not an issue.
Best of luck with it... be sure to post some photos.

Well mine finally made it to FLA, going to pick it up in a couple hours. What is everyone's opinion on a break in period? I figured I'd spend Saturday taking it easy, getting a feel for it for a couple hours and then open it up toward the end of the day to see how rides stock and then spend Saturday night putting all the mods I bought on it and doing some riding on Sunday.......I'm used to breaking in 2 strokes on snowmobiles (back in my days in Michigan) and we would typically only spend a few hours breaking it in and then we'd ride 'em hard........
Well when you get it, make sure ya get some pics
of it, so we can see the new ride. lol _________________ 05 Blade SX-550 Suzuki

I had intended about a 2 hr. easy first run too but it turned out to be about 2 seconds. Watching and hearing the grankid's WEE HAA's while letting it rip is too good to wait 2 hrs. for.
