hey,

thanks for the great explaination on how to shim.

Just one thing... i never use inches only mm/cm/m (metric).

so 2 1/4" o.d = 57.1500 millimeters

and

1/4" = 6.35 millimeters

Correct me if i'm wrong.

thanks again.

the conversion factor is 2.54 , so yes your numbers are right.

I have the new 250 joyner. Does anybody sell a high torque spring for these or should I shim it instead? Will the 2 and 1/4 exhaust work on my cart for the shim, and should I also go with the 5/16 long shim? please help.

No spring for the 250 yet. I shimmed mine with a 1/4" and made a big difference.

has anyone triewd both a 1/4 inch and a 5/16 shim? Is 2 and a 1/4 the diameter? I have the day off tomorrow so I am heading to the hardware store. Are the 15 gram sliders or the 17 gram sliders work better for the trails?

I would go for the 15 grammers for the trails.

The small nut spun off preety easy, but the big nut is being a pain, had to take a dinner break and regroup,im almost afraid of the joy of compressing the spring and getting it back together.
