Lincoln welder/generator

This is at the Home Depot right now... anyone have an opinion (dumb question) on these? Id like a generator ..living in a hurricane area, you never know...but i think if you could do basic welding with it... bonus!!!!

Doesn't seem like a bad deal. Have you arc welded before? If you are good at arc welding it could come in handy around the home fixing lots of things. I wouldn't plan any serious fabrication with this unit though. Fixing a fence and such it would be good.
