No, I still think a VW engine is the way to go.
There is Soooo much you can do with one of those that speed won't be a problem and you wouldn't have to add all that extra weight in engine and reinforcement.

I'm gonna have to agree with Tom on this one. Parts are deffinately affordable in the VW route and there's a sick amount of potential in those things.

Might have to double up on the rear shocks though Smile

Yeah well it's just a thought, about the 3.8 liter. I just happen to have a buick park avenue lying around with a supercharged motor. I also checked for the fun of it and I can buy an adapter for about 440 dollars.comes with the flywheel and I can use the stock pressure plate and clutch. So all in all, it really isn't that bad of a project. A bit on the obnoxious side but I would hope it will do wheelys. I still haven't decided yet. But it is cheaper than modding out my vw motor. A decent twin carb set up alone is about 500 bucks. The 3.8 liter is supercharged and fuel injected already, not to mention liquid cooled. And if that isn't enough power I can also get the chip for the computer and a smaller diameter pulley for the supercharger. Yea I know I'm sick and I need help Very Happy I am just entertaining the idea. But where I ride the stock vw motor was already overkill for power. It's almost just more cost effective to put the buick motor in at this point. Right now I am just waiting and looking for a good deal on a vw motor. I'm sure I will find something.

Doesn't a supercharged 3.8 put out about 240hp? That would be insane in a VW sized buggy. I say do it! Very Happy
