Well just in case everyone is wondering the vw motor is definately blown. So I am working on finding a replacement. If anyone has one or knows where I can find one let me know. I would love to have a showdown with Mud trucker. But that will just have to wait for now. I want to thank Tom for getting this event off the ground. SO glad I came. GREAT PEOPLE! Had a really good time. I look forward to the next meet.Still haven't had time yet to look at either buggy but I will try to post some pics of the vw motor when I get it apart.

Bummer! What happened? I know they are air cooled. Did it run low on oil?

.... and now... let us bow our heads in a moment of silence for the dearly departed....
Fred was a good friend. Loyal to the last mile, he never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need. I remember the time he towed me back to home base. If it weren't for Fred, my life would still be one big compost heap. We'll miss you, buddy.

probably the same thing that happened to the yerf The heat of the day plus a high humidity combinded with a extreme course, add to it, coal dust from hell. The stuff was like grafite, it got everywhere and stuck to everything ! We were cleaning uni's three times a day, On top of this we run the crap out of the buggies- no pun intended. DRIVE it like ya stole it -- we did! I am surprised these are the only two engine fatalitys. Bless fred, he went in style _________________ 3206 yerf. too many mods to list. easier to list what has not been modified- seats and steering wheel. plus one set of kidinme's hand made special collectors edition fuzzy dice. We support pole dancing.
I'm so glad I went to the PA Buggy Bash. Meeting everyone from as far as Mass., North Carolina and points in between was amazing. I had my twister 250 for only a week and after going to the bash I know that I've gotten into a great hobby/sport. Can't wait to do some mods to the buggy. Especially the way Kidinme has his twister suped up.
If Bruce (from Rausch Creek) is reading this, I hope and pray you develope that site for us buggy fanatics. Can't wait to get back up there and try the trails that I didn't get to go on, since there were so many. Thanks for the use of the trails for the event.
To djfriz and ashlee, I have some great photos of the new orbitz gum girl, but still having trouble learning to download photos. Don't worry, I have them saved for the future.
well the vw just overheated the oil was fine. Just ran it way to hard. I was really pushing the limits of this buggy before I even found out we were doing time runs. So when I found out it was already pretty hot. I should have let it cool down before I went for the time run. So it just got to hot. The motor actually siezed on the trail. Just for kicks I have a 3.8 liter supercharged buick engine I am toying with the idea of But that will be a whole lot of work and fabrication. Then again I do have a year But fred will rise again one way or the other. I am going to take a look at him tomorrow. I'll let you know.
If you put the 3.8 in you might as well add a prop and folding wings and rename it chitty chitty bang bang!! _________________ 05 Jehm Adventure Buggy 250cc, Torque Spring, 22.5gr Rollers, Modified Roll Cage, K&N, 21x7x10 & 22x11x10 Trac Star Radials, Vapor, Body Panels, 40T Spkt

Whiplash,
How about a small block 350?? Nothing runs like a V-8.
