Here's a couple pics of me and my old go-kart from about 1979. It was bought for me new and I absolutely wore the wheels off of it. My dad had to put new bearings on it, tires, chain, muffler...I can't remember what all he did to keep it running for me. But I had the time of my young life on that thing! Dad ended up getting me a mini-bike frame and putting the motor on that for me and I drove it till it died! Good times!

I always wished that I had one of those when I was a kid. Never had anything with a motor on it back then... _________________ Custom Buggy http://www.buggynews.com/topic13417.html

It was great! Nothing like the freedom that a go-kart or a buggy gives a kid. My grandparents lived out in the country and I kept it there and drove it on their property and the old gravel road behind their house. I would even drive it to their farm down the gravel road and help grandpa with the cattle. _________________ Buggies....

My 2 brothers and I got one just like that when we were kids. It was used and missing an engine. After awhile we got ahold of an engine but it didn't run. Down the road I took the thing apart and lapped the valves and got it running. We mounted it but the clutch was locked up. We never got ahold of a clutch.
A $30 clutch is all that held us back. The best we could do is tow it behind the lawn tractor, not that fun.
Yeah, it would be cool to still have it for my kids to ride. I don't think they even make them like that anymore. The best I can remember it was just a few short years after I got mine, that they started putting roll cages on them.
