I say they ran out, because I tried to buy one and could not. I even talked to them on the phone. It said limited quantity, but they had none, and did not know when they might get more. I paid $2200 for mine at Pepboys. It is worth it. I seriously thought about building a buggy, but my early estimates ran easily over $6000. The frame and front suspension are excellent designs. With my ATV shocks from ebay, I now have 10" of ground clearance. The front suspension travel is about 12" and about 9" in the rear.
When I went to PepBoys for the specific reason of viewing the Baja 150 Buggy, I must admit that I was very suprised on the quality of the buggy for the money. I can't believe that Baja Motorsports is letting there product be sold at that price. When a company lets a product start selling way below all the other companies, others get mad and drop the line eventually. Maybe it is a mistake,.. who knows...
In the case of the Baja Dune 150 they aren't sold by buggy dealers--or even typical motorsports dealers. Only at warehouse clubs like BJs and the auto parts chain PepBoys. I'm sure there's still profit even at BJ's price of $1899 but I assume the margin is pretty small and they hope to make it up with greater volume. _________________ _________________
