OK, so this is not for the faint at heart and I take no responsibility. I am soon bringing on a new dealer that has been doing some wild mods to these karts, in fact he modified 6 karts for a race in germany His standard modified kart is offering wild torque nearly spinning tires at take off and top speed of 62mph. Interested? these are some of the mods...

ok.

Again I take no responsibility.
Take out the needle jet holder (the thing that holds your main jet) there shoul be 4 holes on each side, drill these out with a #62 bit (they use as low as #57 but you can always go bigger not smaller) all 8 that is both sides. Make sure you blow out all fragments!!!!!

next drill out main jet with a #56 drill bit

Now remove the slow jet (this is the one that has a screw head also and is counter sunk) drill the side holes with a #57 bit, this is for your low rpm flow and will help your low end torque, do not drill the main hole unless you have done work on your head. (the karts not you own)

next remove the diaphram from the top of the carb and pull the pin out, carefull! on the larger hole on the slide drill it out with a #48 drill bit. If your needle is adjustable raise it a bit at this time.

put it all together, cross your fingers and vooooooooooooom

with this mod you will need the pipe and intake or else you will be very mad at me Sad

good luck, I will be hiding now.....

are you going to do this mod to your cart or one of your carts?

and...

will the clutch handle such torque?

and...

if you do this to yours... will you provide pics like the other thread?

last question...

if i were to do this... my cart would still be under warranty, right?? lol Laughing

thanks,
Rich

I dont know what he did as for as head ,cam and gearing.I dont knowwhat size the # drill are but i do know if all he did was to the carb with the same gearing he is full of it.I dont know what a good set of # drills cost but I bet you could bye a full set of jets.If a 135 jet floods the motor top end then you cant put more fuel in the motor. With out forceing more air into the motor you cant put more gas. Take a water hose ,turn it on with out your finger over the in it just run out.Put you finger over the in and it sprays out ,the more you cover of the end the higher the pressure you not getting more water just more pressure. To atomize the fuel better you have to rise the fuel pressure or put smaller jets at the same pressure.Fuel dripping in the carb of these is atomized by the air that goes in with it.If you can increase the rate the air is go into the carb you can atomize better.I dont know anything about these carts but iam trying hard.I do know fuel systems. On a carbarated motor you have to make more vacum to run the bigger carbs.,and you have to do that with what you do to the motor.Just my thoughts. Yes, this is standard stuff for modifying a vacuum operated slide carb. Same things are done to a Harley.

Yes, it is to atomize fuel better, the hole in the slide is to raise it sooner etc.

No this won't make your buggy spin the tires wildly, in fact you will probably make it too rich, but go ahead and try it!!!

On a Harley, you can hardly notice the difference.

kell,

that is exactly what he said, he works on Harleys and he did a ton of experimenting on the karts to find the right size bits for these karts, he said the difference was very noticable but when he did this and the head that was the biggest difference they got. he also mentioned almost everything you have done already to your kart, I think you and this guy are on the same page! what he did say is that when you buy some carb performance kits from companies like k&n they already do this to the jets they send....

Ahh, we agree Stu!

yes the harley kits already have the holes in the in the atomizer.

Yes, you have to do this in conjunction with other mods or it doesn't do any good, ie increase airflow with new intake and exhaust.
