I need help with one problem, the reliability of the transmission
belt in a go-kart brand HammerHead 250SS. The belt as broken after 500 Miles , so I need an upgrade to the torque converter, or a better belt, that can solve this problem.
The original belt is 24.2x868 and the Honda CN250 is a 830/20/30, will this one do the job?
Welcome to buggynews, yours has the low/high tranny in it correct? somethings that can cause a belt to fail,
bad belt
heat ( plugged air inlet on the cvt cover )
slippage ( rear tires not moving but engine revs up )
somethings to help eliminate slippage
stiffer main spring, lighter rollers or sliders.
the 830/20/30 belt will not fit yours, yours takes the 868/24.2 belt _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

There is no easy way to change the CVT configuration to use different belts. Any of the dealers on this forum can send you the correct belt from the USA.
If you update some of the parts in the CVT at the same time, you will find that it has to work as hard and you will get better wear. When you order the belt, also get a set of 17g sliders and the blue Polini torque spring. These items will result in longer belt wear. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

Peter is right, adding the blue or white main spring puts more pressure on the belt to help keep it from slipping and helps keep it low gear longer and also helps with down shifts.
the rollers or sliders will add more bottom by moving faster at less rpm. add a set of clutch springs for more take off and acceleration. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

...
They add bottom end by moving slower within the cvt.
Lighter rollers or sliders move slower within the cvt then a heavier weight one. (rotational mass) You need more rpm to move a lighter roller/slider out on the cvt because it lacks rotational mass.

Has anyone heard of a belt stretching? I have my torque spring shimmed and I seem to be getting higher rpm but I don't feel it in the wheels. I'm wondering did the belt get stretched from the extra pressure to kept it from moving down in the pulley/sheave. When I changed my rollers last the slipped on pretty easy.

make sure you check the rollers if you are putting them back in, mine got chewed up when the belt broke. If you are trying to climb hills to steep and your engine is reving but the wheels are not spining, you are cooking your belt. Mine lasted 1300 miles of hard driving before failure. _________________ Riding Dirty Team
