Need help!! can anyone suggest what would be causing bad vibration from 250cc go-kart. It is a GK-06 model. It is so bad that the motor mounts keep seperating (metal from rubber).
Pulled the reverse gear box apart and found one output shaft with small carked off piece from tip. Hard for me to beleive that
it is causing the entire kart to vibrate.
What else could it be?
More Info? Does it do it in Nuetral sitting, or only while in gear moving? My wifes GK-06 will vibrate your teeth out when the rpm's get up around 4500+. This is the nature of a single cylinder non-counterbalanced thumper motor. Now if it does it in gear, and not in Nuetral, we have a different issue.
If that is the case, try rasing the rear axle on jackstand, and have a helper raise the RPM's till the wheels spin, and look for the source. Also try taking the cover off the CVT, and watch for strange vibrations in the assembly. I have a bad belt make some wicked vibrations on my fathers old Helix 250. Would shake so good laterlly, you would think the rear tire had blown out. Simply as the belt had lost a few cogs.
Take your time when looking for the source, and skip over nothing. It only takes an ounce or two at 4000 RPM's to make a bad vibration. Remeber how bad it feels in a car when the tire is off 2oz of balance weight.
