Ok , maybe I over looked it but I can't find anything about changing the small drive sprocket on the engine for more torgue. I see people change the big sprocket on the drive axle. On blades site he has a small sprocket and says for each tooth lost equals about 2 axle sprocket sizes bigger. Are these small sprocket week or what. Is it a good idea for more low end torgue? Still have to change my rollers and springs and rejet 1st, but was thinking about taller tires and figure I will have to regear. What you all think about it.

i think the reason you don't here much about the gearbox sprocket change is the bolt pattern for the way they bolt up on the gearbox on the 150's,that is on the external gearbox or the old style gearbox that alot of us has.it has a 16 tooth sprocket
i'm still thinking of trying a 15 tooth type A plate sprocket because of the OD but it would be close and chain might catch on the sprocket bolts.
i not sure what gearbox you have

your best bet is to change the axle sprocket. the ones on blades site is for the 70cc karts _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I was thinking of the same sprocket change. BigE, you ran 22x11x8 tires on the rear of your old talon didn't you? Just how much difference did you notice in torque with the larger tires? Enough to warrant an inner gear change if you do lots of climbing?
I have the light sliders, 39t axel sprocket, rejetting, etc... but when I jump from 19" tires to 22" this coming spring, I really don't want to lose any of the bottom end I've been working toward. Or will I gain some of it back by changing to an A12 cam? _________________ 05' Carter Talon GSX 150 2R

mikek if you put in that very soon 1500 torque spring that you got laying in your goodie box of parts, you will see a big difference in your buggy.also i think you will see you have no problems turning over a set of 22'' tires.

yeah... I shoulda had that put in by now... until the rings went. (that'll be fixed soon). So another delay.
Thanks... I don't want to change gearing again unless I have to. _________________ 05' Carter Talon GSX 150 2R

so the rings finally went on you get a hold of ric duncan he has got the rings and gasket set that will fit your engine and a nice price on them to.i got a set of the rings from him for my buggy when they go and i'll be ready, hopefully
have you got a place to work on your buggy its probably starting to get cold up your way.
the torque spring is a great mod and when you put it in i think you will see you want the 22'' tires running the 9.5 gram sliders.
just my thoughts

Actually, funny you should mention that. Steeda is currently testing and starting to sell 10 ad 12 tooth sprockets. He says he's getting great results. _________________ Carter Brothers gtr 300

it would pull me and a friend (400lbs ) up most any hill. made him bout pooh his pants one time _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

. Don't forget the 11 tooth in the middle I have that one too! I can most likely get you a custom sprocket made for anything. I'm specializing in hh because that's what I own. I fabricate parts to make my machine rock, and to enjoy my buggy more. If someone can benefit from my need for speed awesome. And if I can make a couple dollars or even break even on fabricating one of a kind parts I'm happy. So far I really really really like my 10 tooth the torque is amazing. I can't describe it its a FUN machine to drive! Next project is to get my top speed back while keeping the 10 tooth torque. I may have to settle for 11 tooth but 10 is so fun I want to make it work. Have not tried 10 tooth with new cdi yet though maybe get some more rpm out of it. _________________ Darren,
