Every 2 months I get 7 days off In a row it makes for a lot of riding time and research time. Every other week that isn't 7 off I get 4 days in a row! Life is good. _________________ Darren,

Sounds like you work shift work at a Power Plant, 12-hour days?
So, let's get this straight?
It makes the sound when starting off..
Starting off in low gear, Yes/No
Staring off in high gear, Yes/No
Is that a slow start or a fast/jack rabbit start?
Does it still do it if you ease into the throttle?
Be carefull when you do this.
Have someone drive. You stand behind the buggy and see if you can hear more or less of it.
If you can't tell...
Take the CVT Cover off and run it for a while. See if that increases or decreses the sound.
You've got homework. _________________ Chris Dierkens

when i start off slow and slowly speed up in low it wont pop. if i start off over half throttle it pops. if it was the teeth in the gear box wouldnt it do it all the time?
check the chain, if its to ;oose it will do that. also if its to tight it will hurt performance and put more stress on the tranny.
also jack it up and grab the top and bottom of each rear wheel. move it in and out and check fro cv joint movement, a-arm movement, and look to see if it moves in the bearing located in the rear knucke. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I had an axle break in the mid-point of the hub... It still moved forward, but made a similar "poping" noise... I found it following a similar routine that Eric mentions above....
You're smart... Just follow your normal troubleshooting routine, establishing boundaries (which you've already started) and move in from there.
If you jack up the rear-end you might as well take the wheel off and inspect things if that's what it takes. _________________ Chris Dierkens
