i got stuck in the creek today and submerged my muffler. my friend who was pushing from behind said to keep the throtle on to blow out the water. then the engine died with the muffler still under. my friend picked the buggy up to get the muffler out, and it started.
eventualy he had to pull me out with his quad (sorry guys, i know im a disgrace to this forum) lol
should i have any worries about my engine, or muffler (witch was only an hour old). _________________ 2005 TALON GX150 IIR

No prob with the muffler and as long as the engine exhaust where it meets the muffler did not go under water level you should be fine.unbolt exhaust and tip it to make sure all water is out it doesn't have to be totally dry just not cups that could back wash back in. At any rate drain your oil it may be milky which indicates water. Drain it any way.. Put new stuff in run it for 5 minutes drain again to get the rest of the junk out. Fill it up and you should be good. You could have caused major damage had you drove it home its good you got towed. Your more then likely fine. _________________ Darren,

he only pulled me out and up the bank. i drove it home and for 30 mins after i got stuck. all seems fine. whouldnt any water just turn to steam?
I was on an angle so i only submerjed the mouth, and im not worried about oil. but il take a look at it after school. _________________ 2005 TALON GX150 IIR

If you have water in your oil and choose to ignore it you will have engine problems just around the corner. _________________ Darren,
