I feel like a putz for asking this, but is there more then one way to drain the oil in the crankcase? I've been using the plug under the right side of my engine which also contains the oil filter and spring, but I recently found a major crack around the threads of that plug, and don't want to touch it until my new one comes in this week. Right now it's sealing, so I don't wanna tempt fate.

Problem is, I need to change the oil to attempt getting it out of the bush. Is there a "main drain' I'm not seeing on this thing? If so, does anyone have a picture?

I don't have a picture, but look for another plug on the bottom of the crankcase.

mike there is another drain plug look on drivers side across from the big plug with screen you are talking about that is crack.the one on the drivers side is the won they recommend to use when changing oil
i always do both pull drivers side plug drain oil ,then pull the big plug with screen to check for metal cuttings and dirt in the screen.i know that one is giving you trouble so you just do drivers side to get it back home.
here a picture looking from up underneath.

That's EXACTLY what I was hoping to hear (read, see?). I have a new plug coming, so this should be a lot safer for the time being. Beats trying to syphon oil from the filler tube!! Confused Thanks a ton...
