I'm heading down to Uwharrie National Forest tomorrow (9/13)for an all day ride. My wife and friends are riding horses and I'm heading over to the 4wd/atv trails. If anyone is interested in riding along, please call 336-427-2852, PM, or email the9fan@aol.com. Right now its just me and my 9 yr old. Welcome anyone!

Well, I hated riding alone not knowing how the buggy would perform or if I had troubles. There were a tremndous amout of rocks I realy wasn't prepared for. I'm looking for new tires now. I didn't have any troubles going anywhere that wasn't prohibited by the buggy--large 14" plus boulders! Course I was still cautious not to blow a tire. As for the mud, no problems. We ran into around 8 or nine mud pits. On of which I thought we had went through on the way up. Then on the return back, I started into the middle of this same pit. My daughter informed me we had went around it the first time. But I knew we hadn't. Well, guess who was wrong. I rolled into the pit about 30 ft, and then it dropped. To the top of the benches of the seats! To my surprise, I just crept along without splashing, turning about 2500rpm. We chugged right out the other side. She was so impressd. We would have never attempted that with the old buggy's configuration. Course now I have a nice glaze to get rid of on the clutches, but not a big deal. All in all, it was a bit lonely, but turned out a great father/daughter day anyway. Smile

I did not even think about taking the buggy the last time I went to Uwharrie. I just went on the motorcycle. I did not think that the buggy would do that well on some of the trails with all the boulders (not rocks). Does your buggy have the stock engine or have you changed it? I see your "sig" line says V-twin.
If we can get a few people together maybe a trip can be planned to go there. CKAU just e-mailed me about a get together at Bosco Beach ATV park in Goldsboro NC. I will be trying to go to that.
