hey guy i was out on a ride today and my clutch started smoking and i did not feel as much difference as i had expected should i de glaze the bell and rough the pads up some more ? what do you suggest

The advice I heard was exactly what you said.. but first make sure every little bit of rubber is cleaned out of the CVT casing. Take a close look at the belt to make sure it doesn't need replacing. I'd be guessing it got worn a bit if it was smoking. If you de-glaze the bell, I heard you should do it cross-ways with a light sandpaper. Let me know if this helps you.. I think I need to do the same to mine very soon!!!

Most people tend to wipe the inside of the bell in the direction of rotation, it's better to score across the face or at 45 degrees and back at 90 degrees to that producing a cross hatch effect instead with a fine emery paper, I prefere to leave it polished as long as it's clean. Check the condition of the friction shoes in the clutch, if they feel at all 'grainy' it could be they have overheated and 'cooked off' they will not last long after this as the composition of the shoes has been compromised, I know, I have a box full! Smoking is definetly from the belt and you should check the width against service spec, on a 23mm belt anything under 21.5mm is in line for replacement soon, make sure therre is no rubber residue on any of the pulley surfaces.

ok so did i hurt any thing or is it just fine i drove it another mile after letting it cool a little and it seamed fine i did only run it in low though so idk i had a flat front tire so i think that is what did it was stressing to much trying to pull that tire

ok guy went for another ride and i still don't feel the difference that i thought i would do they need any breaking in or what still slow on take off does not jump like i expected any thing i should check ?
