I'm in need of adding a spark arrestor to our chery 1100cc engine, next month I'll be doing extensive amount of forest service roads. I'm looking on add on units like the Cobra Sparky (though I've hear these are being discontinued), the Supertrapp (but I can't seem to figure how I can fit these on my exisiting muffler), or the 18" Tuneable Muffler w/Spark Arrestor by desertkarts.com (which seems to be popular on this site but I couldn't find anyone using it withe the 1100cc engine.
Also are the muffler actually stamped USFS approved?
Any feedback on these systems and my engine type or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had a supertrapp type muffler/spark arrestor on my LJ Tech Chery motored 1100....Ran it with all the discs as it came.....Liked it but don't remember seeing a USFS stamp for sure....

I suggest you go to a local offroad vw buggy type shop and see what they offer...That's where I found mine in Vegas for around $60............

I am using the desertkart spark arrestor and it is a big improvement in performance. The general starting point is 1 disc for each 100cc and they come with 12 disc, so thats enough for your engine size. They sound great too and you can make it quieter by removing discs. The last cover disc has the words USFS approved stamped into it so it should be good to go for your needs. In the end it is basically the same thing as a supertrapp but costs three times less.
