hello fellas,
wondering if I can get some advise/help with my buggie down under in Aus...
(Hammerhead, 150 GY6)
my problem is that I have no spark, every thing works, engine cranks over but just won't spark. (lights on, but no one home lol)
I have bridged out the kill button,
swapped the ignition switch with my second buggie, (single seater 150 GY6)
swapped the C.D.I,
swapped the rectifer,
had ignition coil tested, (at local bike shop),
I have the spark plug sitting on a jumper lead that is clamped to the negitive termal on the battery.
unless the parts I robbed of my second cart are also faulty I have run out of ideas.
fulling short of driving 3 1/2 hours to the nearest dealer to get them to fix it, I was hoping I might get some good advise from the experts here..... Wink

Chirgs,

Could be a problem with the ignition pickup located behind the engine fan.

Start by downloading the service manual off SpiderboxPerformance.com

Off of the coil wiring harness is the pickup for the fly wheel magnet (this is what provides the signal timing for the spark). There is a dedicated phase off the stator that powers the CDI. The CDI advances the timing based on RPM and sends the signal to the coil which amplifies it and passes it on to the spark plug. The CDI will have a kill circuit or the wiring will be setup to interrupt power or timing signal to the CDI to stop the engine.

Use the downloaded manual to troubleshoot the ignition system. Post your findings if you get stuck.
