Has anybody put a aftermarket carb on a 250 HH? My stock one seems to need to be cleaned alot. It will run fine for about a week then starts running bad. Take carb off clean all passages, put back on and it will run alright. It has a larger fuel filter. I ride mostly on paved roads. Have almost 700 miles on it and really enjoy driving around, but I'am about to wear out the carb bowel screws cleaning it out. I could use a little more power also. Thanks.

welcome to buggy news, do you have the stock air box on it? check the fuel tank , sometimes the inside will have alot of small particals that come loose from the sides. I would replace the fuel lines, they can deterate from the inside.

a new carb wont help until we figure out where the dirt is coming from

The factory airbox has been replaced with an air tube and a K&N air filter. The carb has the jet changed to run with the air tube/K&N setup. The muffler has also been opened up. It will run about 47 MPH with no head wind. It just seems the carb will get gruppy. I pull it apart clean it and it will go again. Don't usually find the dirt / foreign material. Cleaned the tank filter and replaced the inline with a new one. Guess the question was is there a carb that is not as sensitive and does not have the electric choke setup. One other question, what can be changed in the clutch to pickup a little more top end. It has all the bottom end I need. Sorry to be so windy, just looking for info. Thanks.

if you are not finding any trash in the carb, I wonder if its just running to lean. what color is your plug?

you can change to a haevy slider to gain more speed but you will loose some bottom end

Try running a fuel additive. Were im at the gas is terrible and almost all the toys I have get gummed up pretty quick. I run Lucas fuel additive about every third tank and it keep everything nice and clean. Van

The plug looks good, a touch rich (tan). Started running a product to help with condensation in the fuel. It helped. What is the best aftermarket carb for a little more power? Can you explain more about the clutch setup? How much heavier slider. A source to get one? Thanks.

Get ahold of Supersoxy, he has a hh250 and has it
dialed in the way you would like it to run.
