Was out playing tonight and when I went from reverse back into forward, the transmission wouldn't engage. The engine's fine, it just revs freely. Feels like something just needs to be adjusted, with a little more movement from the cable back in I think it would engage. Common problem on these? Easy fix?

Thanks,
DD

the cable is probably to tight or kinked. another possibility is the mechanism in the reverse gear box is binding and needs to be lubricated. in any event should be an easy fix.

Backs up fine. I was a couple miles from home when it broke, and I went all the way back home in reverse. I checked the cable and it isn't kinked or broken.

maybe your cable broke a strand inside housing causing it to bind up not let the gears mesh back together for forward.
that is if the cable ajustment hasn't work loose letting cable get tighter or binding up in the gearbox do to lack of grease like im4seven has said.

Yes, the nut is still there - does it just need to be tightened?
