There is a Joyner 650 sand spider in my area for sale that has the turbo kit. I have never seen a Joyner before so I have some questions. I am 6'-4" and my son is 6'-10" will we fit in it? With the smaller 650 engine and turbo will it have good power? How much slower or less HP will it have compared to the 800CC.

The only Chinese buggy I have been around belongs to West Coast and I liked it but it is a GK 32 with an 800CC turboed motor. Is this buggy a lot smaller?

What things should I know about the Joyner. This buggy is a 4.5 hour drive so I don't want to just waist time looking if it is not a good choice.

thanks Mike

If it is the black one out at Moses Lake, I think I saw it on Memorial Day without the turbo. I don't remember the guy's name, but he had two small boys on quads. He had 26" paddles and we talked for a while while I was trying to dig out my 650 that bottomed in a gully. At that time it was only about a month old. I think he ordered it through a wholesaler so it probably is not warrantied.

There are only a few outfits that make a turbo for this Joyner, so find out where he got it. My 650 does not have a turbo but can run about 45-50 mph on soft sand and 60+ mph on hard pack.

I have not sat in a 800c buggy but I am over 6' with a 34" inseam and have plenty of room for my legs. It is just over 5' wide and about 9' long.

I will be out in Florence, OR on Saturday through the following Saturday if you want to see my 2007 Joyner 650. PM me if you are near the I-5 corridor from Seattle and we can meet up.

Yes that is the machine he has it on CL and Ebay. He wants $5K for it it seems ok for what he has. I am just not sure it is what I want. If I go Chinese I wanted the larger engine but with the turbo it might be just fine the problem for me is he is at least 4.5 hours away I don't really want to buy sight unseen. I am scheduled for OT at work and don't have any time off for another week or more and I have plans then.

I have a 2008 SandSpider with the Turbo; it runs great. You will fit in it ok but your son's legs may be bent a little more than comfortable. With two adults, even with the turbo, it may struggle on some longer hills. I can really tell a difference in power when I have my son, who is eight, in the buggy vs. my 215lb father.
I have the turbo kit from Unleashed Motorsports in AZ, after much research that is what I deemed to be the best one.
