just keep checking ebay!!! i got mine for around 150, plus a rebild that cost that much and then the springs!!! lol.. but the green springs I got with the stock shocks were too weak... that is why I replaced them with the new springs...

Anyway, when all was said and done, I spent about 500 on the whole front end, welding, ball joints, and springs and shocks... Oh yeah.... TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!

Yeah Monk I always say it's in my top 3 mods with money spent and satisfaction returned! My swingarm and lower arms suffered major damage, which I now believe might not have happened had I upgraded my shocks. The suspension on the Dune is the strongest attribute of the cart, take advantage of it.

I agree it is very important, here is the part I question...
I already bought a set of those #150 springs john seguested, thinking I could easily find a set of the AC's. So, I can buy a new set of oem replacement shocks for 259 plus shipping. Or I can wait til it snows here and watch all the sled parts fly up on CL as always. Snowmobiling is huge here, and everyone buys the new stuff each year.?.? Great time to score.

So here it is again Laughing ..... Do I pay 100 bucks more and get brand new ones here NOW, or do I save the 100 and keep looking? Laughing

Tough call. I like to ride as often as possible. But since your already in the build and wait for parts process, wait. Plus you want new tires for the ITP rims.

Several AC sleds used the same size shock. ZR700, ZR800, Thundercat, Sabercat and I'm sure others. Keep bugging the sellers to give you the eye-to-eye length. Search those names("ZR800 shocks", etc) and you'll eventually find some in your price range.

Another great shock is the set from a DS650 quad. Great quality (made by Arvin Meritor) and the springs might be perfect. They're way long at 19.7" but could be adapted to fit. VERY hard to find em cheap but they do show up on occasion.

Yep, and they are freshly rebuilt w/0 miles on them. You may be able to pick them up for the opening bid of $99 + shipping.

Now, where do you pick up heavier springs for the AC shocks?

here:

you need to adapt them, because they are 2 inches shorter, but you can use exhaust reduces like I did for less than 10 bux, 2" to 1-7/8th at advance auto parts...

WORKS PERFECT!!!!
