Buggy is used 90% of the time on soft beach sand the rest on hard packed tracks. The buggy won't even move off in some places without just digging itself a hole in the sand, never mind climbing anything! I think I need to go wider but what trad pattern/brand would you recommend? Buggy has usual mods: 17g Sliders/variator/clutch/uni, so the power is OK. Thanks for the help. If you are consistently riding on sand then you may need to go with sand paddles. This will help get the machine going as long as you don't a too aggressive tread. They work on sand and dirt and unlike paddles are not directional. Don't run paddles you don't have the power to spin them. We tested 2 different types of paddles and all they did was dig holes. With the Turf Tamers you won't need to change tires. Air up in hard pack and air down to about 4-6 psi in soft sand. We ran all over Glamis this way and didn't have any trouble. Just remember to pick good lines you don't have the power you need to climb out.
