Geek,
I know you directed this to Mike, but thought i would add my 2 cents for your info.
I have not yet done the sprocket, but I can tell you when I changed my rollers and the main spring, it made a big difference in my buggies performance.
The sprocket is really all gear ratio. My suggestion would be get it running with the CVT mods, then see if you still need the sprocket.

how much low end do you want? the 250 kit comes with 14 gramm rollers, and I have some 13 gram also.

Geek,
I would think about running the rollers that will give you a bit more torque. The reason I say this is that the top speed wont go down that much, maybe 2-5 mph total, but the torque will get you there alot faster, and really helps on hills. Just something to consider. See what BIGE says, he will know better on the 250's than i would, since mine is a 150.
