I have noticed after riding that i have, what appears to be oil, coming out of my exhaust. I'm just assuming that my piston rings are shot. I was just getting some kind of confirmation on this, and where i can get some cheap replacements. Also, if the correct size of the rings is 57.4mm. I have a SunL 150B kart.

Yes the SUNL 150B uses 57mm rings.....unfortunately the cylinder head gaskets are hard to come by.

ric if you remember i talked to you some time back on these sunl engines and parts that i seen at (chineseatvpart.com)
they are under kazuma parts. i had talked to them by email and the cylinder head and jug looks to be the same that is on are 2 bolt valve cover style of engines they told me they would fit the sunl 150 and to me they look the same.
i wonder if the head gasket and cylinder gasket they are showing fits this head and cylinder to
so far knock on wood i haven't had to crack open my engine yet.what do you think?

ric i order one of these head gaskets i was talking about but i did not get it from chineseatvpart.com i ordered one from them and they got a hold of me saying they would be out of stock for a few weeks.so i went to another place that showed one, should be here in a few days its on its way.
going back to what you told me the stud spacing for the sunl gasket should be a tiny bit under 2 1/4 about 2 7/32's is that about wright and is that the only difference i should look for.
i didn't order a cylinder gasket just head gasket i figured the only way to find out is just order one.i don't want to crack open my motor just trying to go by measurement and looks
any adviced would be appreciated

Well you could pull just your valve cover and see if the gasket matches up with the stud spacing.

ok..so i changed my oil and the level is good..i checked the compression and it seems pretty good too...i haven't really noticed any oil since then but the engine is still acting up....not sure how to describe it but the best way to explain it is that the engine seems like it doesn't want to go above a certain rpm....its kinda sluggish starting out but runs alot better at higher speeds....but it runs nice for bout 2 seconds then bogs down for a few, then runs good again then bogs...it just keeps doing this...its like it hits a certain rpm then bogs....then when i get back up to that rpm it bogs again....not sure if this a good description but its the best way i can describe it....i read somewhere that the intake manifold might be dry rotted and getting a good vacuum....which it was and i sealed pretty good with rubber goop....and that didn't change anything....what else could i possibly troubleshoot...?

engine-117 have you ever adjust the valves on your buggy.i have had some symptoms before of blow by if my valves are way out of adjust, especially if the exhaust valve is way out.
you may have gotten some junk in your carb jets.
what about the coil wires are they good and tight making good connections.
even though you seal the intake with stuff spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid over it and around while idling,if the engine sound changes or die out its still leaking.i tried sealing a leaking intake before never worked out for me to were it lasted any length of time.
just some thoughts on things you might want to look at.

pud...i have not adjusted the valves...i would say i only have the basic mechanic abilities...changing/checking oil...checking filters..you know..the basics...i did take apart the carb and completely cleaned it tho when this started with no effect....i have been tinkering alot lately and all the connections for all the wires are nice and tight....i just read thru another thread that someone posted with the same prob...ive completed all the basic things but i dont really want to start ripping the engine apart or anything with my mechanic inabilities...i dont want to mess something else up...
