It controls the ignition firing and rpm range. It can limit your RPMs and it controls when the engine produces the spark. So with an adjustable one you can make the engine spark sooner and you can go from 9,000 rpms to 11,000 rpms.
Got it, but did you notice any performance change? With my 150 I upgraded the coil and CDI and I'll be damned if the thing ran any differently. Do you see a noticeable difference after adjustment?
I really couldn't tell a huge difference. But I'm sure there is one. When I race my buddy with the same set up as mine exept he doesn't have the cdi or coil, we are dead even until about 35 mph then I walk away from him, leaving him shaking his head. _________________ Riding Dirty Team
Stay away from the cdi for the cf moto in my testing so far it has had zero change. Still testing though. _________________ Darren,
