I am moving on in another direction.Looking for a 68-72 Chevy Nova Or Chevelle.James
I owned a 70 Nova... Owned a '69 Z28 before that....
Of both, the '70 Nova was my favorite... Only reason was because I built the engine, tranny and suspension myself...
Had to sell both to have enough money to pay bills so that I could graduate on time. _________________ Chris Dierkens

...and James--get the Nova. Chevelle is a great muscle car but every car show has dozens of 'em. If you're not an originality nut it would be fun to do a Baldwin Motion Nova clone. _________________ _________________

I have had a 3 Nova's when I was a young buck only 1 chevelle. Now A days both of them are a great item to acquire.I have been searching for a good while. It will be more time consuming than searching over a buggy. _________________ http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/YERFDOGGX150PARTS/?yguid=63829871
[quote="Spool". Also for as big as that Carter is, it doesn't appear to have much more seating room than the Yerf. Is this the case or is it just hard to tell from the pictures?
Jamie[/quote]
You are correct the seating area is about the same. Measuring on the inside of the frame by the hip the Yerf is 42", the GTR is 37". The Yerf stays at 42" since the bar goes fairly straight up. The GTR tapers outward and near the shoulder it reaches 41".
The Yerf has 36" to the pedal and the GTR 39". The Yerf is 16.5" to the bottom of the steering wheel measured from the back of the seat, the GTR 22".
So the Yerf has a little more hip room but since the Carter has a little more leg room and the steering wheel is farther out it feels more spacious. It would be nice to have a tilt wheel on the GTR like the new Talons have. _________________ Carter GTR 250

The problem with the gas leaking out is the probably the gas cut off valve not closing or float sticking in the carb. Pooring the gas out of the overflow.
I had that one my GTR too when i first got it... and have seen several new GTR's with the exact same problem. And it doesn't occur on idle only when running...
They test run the engine at the factory and don't drain the float bowl afterwards. How stupid can you be??? Result gasoline glazing... forming rock hard crystals on the inside of the carb. Take it apart and give everything a very good clean (jets, needle... the lot)
I'm sure this will fix your problem.

I have had to open & clean the carb on several buggies. 150's included. It is the needle valve sticking open. Not a big deal to fix, but a big deal having leaking fuel. Have also seen some of the inline filters clog real early so you might grab a couple extra.
Any peice of debris getting past the filter will cause the needle to stick open.
Here's to enjoying your new 250!! _________________ Carter Kart Dealer, Track Owner/Operator,

Got it back yesterday rides great now! We figured it may have been something getting stuck on the delivery over I guess, they could not replicate the problem at the shop. The engine is now shifted back to not touch the gas tank and now the chain no longer touches the stump guard. After tightening a couple bolts it sure is a lot less "rattly". Idles real quiet but when you get on the gas it lets out some noise!!
BUT the speedometer isnt working.... . I am going to try and see if it is something I can fix. Any ideas?
Are your rear lower A arms on properly witht the fittings down? I was told they come already assembled and on the buggy and they saw the rest were upside down too. They called Carter and they saw they were upside down on the ones there also. So just a heads up for you guys /dealers to keep an eye out. _________________ Carter GTR 250

Sounds like they put it together a bit to fast.
Is the pickup for the speedo installed properly?
Does it do anything at all? Or just no speed indication?
My first speedo gave out after I got some water in it.
Now I have it sealed with some silicone at the back and front (round the rim) no problems since...
