I bought my Carter GTR from Leeson's Import Motors in Bridgeport, West Virginia. These bozos couldn't find their way out of a paper bag. When my cart was delivered, the wheels were not even tightened down. A trip around the yard and they nearly fell off. The cart was aligned to turn right around the world and the front brakes were adjusted way to tight After a trip back to the shop for adjustments (including alignment), the delivery guy couldn't even push it off the trailer. The parking brake was adjusted so tight that even when disengaged, it had to be running and in gear with power to move. Forget the alignment. After the second trip back to the shop, the decided to replace a tire (it was worn bald from improper alignment) instead of trying to figure our how to align this thing. When I complained about their poor service, I was told never to come back. Don't buy from Leeson's Import Motors
What kind of dealer are they (other than "BAD"!)? Are they mainly a buggy dealer or is that just a sideline for them? Import buggies need assembly and continuing support from a good dealer. They need to wise up or lose all their customers to internet dealers. _________________ _________________

I agree. I had no..zero...zilch.. after-sales support on my Carter Talon I bought in Edmonton, Canada. The guy told me he sells the machines, but I'm on my own as far as parts or repairs, tune-ups or anything else. They wouldn't even help me find a replacement brake cable. He gave me Carters 800 number.
Anyone considering buying a buggy had better do their research on dealers, or learn to twist wrenches like I did (with a TON of help from buggynews.com) _________________ 05' Carter Talon GSX 150 2R

Did you end up getting the brake cable mike? I know there is a Carter dealer in spruce grove my first impression is terrible service too. I was shopping around for a kart we wher going to buy 2 and guy hardly gave me the time of day. So ended up plunking the money down on 2 hammerhead 250s and very happy with the customer service. _________________ Darren,

that is very strange. I am a carter dealer and I up hold the warranty, and give customers the service they need.
the only thing I can think of is the Canada dealers dont want to "import " th parts to keep in stock. the dealers in the states need to be held accountable for there actions. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I don't think it has much to do with geography, you can find good dealers and bad dealers in any country. _________________ Darren,

Leeson's sells motorcycles, ATV's, and buggies. Buggies are likely the least of their business, but this does not excuse incompetence. After doing some more checking, I discovered both my rear lower A-arms were installed upside down, with the grease fittings point up! I complained to Carter about this dealer but they don't seem to care. Obviously they are not looking for repeat business

Well it must be a relative of the genius that assembled my GTR! Mine were upside down too!! I called the Carter help number and he was helpful but seemed EXTREMELY hurried to get me off the phone. My engine was also touching the gas tank.
It is dealers like this that put a bad spin on the whole buggy sport. It is hard enough to get people to see them for more than "go karts" and then you have somebody just throwing them out there. Even the "big name" brands. Heck BIGE gave me more information online than my local Carter dealer! My local place just started selling the Hammerhead line and I asked him how much a 250SS would be and it was almost like it was too much for him to order me one even though it would have been paid for. It is almost some vicious circle, buy local but the local guy sucks or buy online and get screwed. _________________ Carter GTR 250

it is amazing how some dealers treat people. with the economy the way it is I would think they would bend over backwards to make a sale.
thats why my back hurts and my screws came out of my knee _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything
