well 2 days ago my buggy got stuck real bad and we couldne get it out wit the truck so we came back the next day and pulled it out wit my friends four wheeler. Once i got it out i rode it round for a ahile till finally it ran out of gas. This place is so far from civilization i never would have thought anyone would take it( it is a huge construction area) so i just pushed it to a place you cant see from the main dirt road, took the key out and left it. At the time i didnt have any means of bringing it back so me and my friend were gonna leave it and get it the next day. There is really nothing i could have done, but i feel soooooo bad. ia m onyl 15 and me and my parents split the cost. sa far i have probably put 3000 into that thing including the actual cart and im so frustrated.
i have filed a police report and so far thats all i can do.

Might want to ask the guys working in the area. Who else would have seen it there?

I am in Laplace but I will keep an eye out. You did write the VIN # down for your warranty right? That way at least you can verify if it IS yours if found.

Are there workers at this construction site? I would go down there and talk to them, see what they know.

Also, I know this may sound crazy but look to see if there are tire tracks next to where your buggy was. Does it look like they loaded it, or does it look like they pushed it somewhere? Follow the tracks. I had my dirt bike taken the same way and when I went to look for tracks I sam they just pushed the bike down the hill and hid it behind some bushes. I know it was luck, but maybe luck is on your side too.

I looked for people working there but it had looked like their work day was over. I do have the vin number and have filed a police report with it. i didnt really look for tracks because i was pretty shocked and i immediately thought about a police report. i really do appreciate all the help.

vik66 well have you had any luck finding your buggy yet?
i hate to here things like this.its sad to say but in this world today you can't go off and leave stuff set like this any more, thinking it will be there when you get back.
after reading this i wonder if one or more of the construction guys didn't have there eye on it.
good luck and i hope you find your ride.

Hope it turns up somehow. There are too few of us buggy riders here in LA. Which MAY help you locate your buggy hopefully!

that stinks to hear. If I were at a construction site, and I see an abandoned go kart, I might be inclined to take it home as well!!! I would return it to the owner if they came asking for it... not out of fear getting caught, but out of respect. I would charge for the tank of gas though... lol

In my opinion, very bad idea leaving it anywhere, and I really hope you get it back, but just as simular situations have happened to me in the past, this is a lesson learned. I feel you are waaaay too trusting of those in that area, and you paid the ultimate price... Keep asking, keep looking there, and go on the "off" days and maybe you can catch someone riding it!!!

Good luck!!!

thanks for all input guys.

yeah i agree it was a bad idea but at the time i didnt have any way to get it out of there. its been like 2 weeks but i am still missin my buggy pretty badly. The police station here is so aggravating. The officer i spoke to said once you get the vin number call the office and theyll email it to me, but whenever i call they just transfer me to somewhere they dont anser the phone...so frustrating.

Do you guys think you can claim it on homeowners insurance?

you can only file a claim against the homeowners if it was stolen from YOUR personal property, IE out of your shed or back yard... At that point, you muct provide title, proof of ownership, proof of value, and you are subject to investigation as to whether or not it was secured properly, and that you did not loose it due to negligence (which is kinda where you are at)...

Good luck though... I really hope it turns up!!!
