nice pictures B-hopper that ought to help people.
this must be a carb off one of your sunls,i notice it has the short pilot jet like mine, unless you have it out.
i won't get into a long story but i went to adjust my float level and had it mess up worse than hoggens goat. i set it at 18.5 mm
had all kinds of problems until i figure out that was the wrong setting for this carb with the short pilot jet, after having it apart a couple or three times it dawned on me.after playing with it i think finally set float level it at 12mm,thats been since back in the winter and its doing a good job at that setting for me.
just thought i would mention that if some one needs to adjust there float on a 150cc,look and make sure if you have a short or long pilot jet.the short one sets up in the carb base and the long one comes out to edge of carb base.
again nice pictures

Hey Pud that is a sunl carb, good eyes . I have never messed with my float settings, still stock and it runs good with only the main jet changed.
By the way how did you get your buggy to handle an electric winch? Mine will hardly run the head lights.

B-Hopper i did have an extra battery just for winch but small battery went bad for buggy so i just went to a big lawn and garden size battery from southern states, i think it is 270 cranking amps.its starts buggy and runs winch if need to.
than if i have to use winch when i come back in i put battery on charger so it won't work the stator to death charging battery back up. _________________ 2006 sunl 150b

Wow... thanks for the pics B-hopper, carbs are kind of intimidating to me (and other noobies I'm sure)...
This will help out hugely when I begin rejetting, take it all apart and have no idea how to put it back together again. This helps identify a few unknowns. Is there a big design difference between a SunL carb and others (like my Talon?) _________________ 05' Carter Talon GSX 150 2R

Thanks guys, just trying to add something to the site.
MikeK I don't think externally there is a difference in the carbs, although some CARB compliant ones may have the air/fuel mixture screw behind some metal so it can't be adjusted. I think PUD noted the difference in pilot jets but I'm not sure what kind the Talon has. Maybe somebody else can chime in.
