I have a (05) Carter GX150 Talon. I have added a prodigy cluch, 1500 rpm spring and 10 gram roller kit. I also run royal purple in the motor and trans. It made a big difference. I have a 40mph top speed using the Vapor trail tech speedometer. I just bought A Carter XP 150 and I want to make some mods to it. The XP 150 has the new SYM motor. It runs 36mph stock. I am pretty sure the cluch and variator are the same as the GY6s. Can someone confirm that? And could someone explain the preformance difference between the rollers and the slider rollers?

the rollers and other cvt parts are the same. the rollers move a little quicker than sliders so it dosent take as much rpm to get them to move. the sliders take a tad longer to move but will help retain some top speed.

So, the rollers would be better for offroad trail riding.

Thanks for the info. I plan on putting in a new high preformance cluch and variator in my new XP 150. I think I'll use the rollers in it also.

I like the innovative slider design for more bottom end without sacrificing top end. I'm on my phone or I would explain it for you. Look up my teflon variator post it explains it all and reasons why. But in the end its all personal preferance. But IMO sliders are superior and the post explains the math behind it.

Slower reaction of a same weight slider will help boost bottom end power. And the slider has the benefit of not sacrificing top end as much as a roller would.
