California buggy bash at ocotillo wells

Hey guy lets start this year early so that everyone can come
So things we need
a date you guys suggest some dates last year we choose marten luther king jr day weekend for three day of fun if that same weekend would work again than lets do that if you have another free weekend let us know

Everyone, everything is welcome you dont have to have a buggy you can bring quads motorcycles and utv's buggy's of any size and any thing else that can go off road

As for sleeping and camping there are some hotels very near by
For motor homes there are nice big spots to park and bath rooms right near

Things that are required for ocotillo a flag/whip as for green sticker as long as you dont do any thing stupud you should be good with out but to be on the safe side try to get one you do not need parking passes

The terrain there is some sand,gravel washes,sand washes but it is mostly hard pack

Any other questions that you might have just ask here in this thread

I hope everyone can come it should be really fun

Sounds like fun to me! I am good with any weekend after about Sept 20th. It should be cool enough by then. And if we do it before the time change in November we will have more day light.

true that but how many three day weekends are there that what we need a three day weekend that every one can get off work

How about "Thanksgiving" 4 day. Maybe a poker run and some buggy drags too. Where in Ocotillo Would be good? Like I said I'll help if needed.

i have herd that buy the air port there is a good spot to open it up last year we stay,d at the corner of main st that was a good spot as there were bathrooms right there and a little canopy if we got two of the canopy things near each other then we could have to camp sites

thanks giving may be good but the family get togethers that week if we did it the 22-the 24 but come out on the 21 after noon and leave on the 24 fri-mon that gives us two whole days of riding would those dates work for people you would still have the 25-30 for family if not then just tell us another weekend
ok just to be sure there are no set date's yet just suggestions

I'm in.
There are no bathrooms by the airport so we dont want to stage there. My favorite staging area is off of commune and cahuila
bathrooms are about 3/4 of a mile away, but thats why are buggies have lights.
From this staging area we can hit blow sand, gas domes, shell reef, pole line
yes I know the area well

srp sounds like you are saying to stage near where i am saying to camp last year
we stayed at the North West Corner of Main st. and 78
we were right near a bathroom we want to be as close as possible to a bathroom as some people may not want to ride to go
i was not saying stage by the air port i was saying go there for the drags
blow sand is very near main where we stayed gas domes pole line and shell reef is a good ride and close enough
the reason i want to be close to the road is so people can see us we dont want to be hidden under stand ?

and for got to add what does everyone think of the dates 11-21 through 11-24 will those work or does that affect family time ?

I'll have to check on the times, but we plan on going. Don't forget Devil's Slide, SRP! It's be hilarious to watch all of us try to get our buggies up THAT one!
