I searched the threads and couldn't find anything on these.
Does anyone have an oil cooler on their buggy? Im sure it doesn't help with performance, but will it help keep my motor temp down? Are they really worth the $200.
Thanks

Other than increase your oil capacity, I don't see how these will cool the engine since there is no way to have the oil pump through the cooler. _________________ 07 Joyner SandSpider 650

I witnessed the same motor as Bige described. Shameful waste of a perfectly good gy6. That cinched my decision to not use one. A couple of us on here have been monitoring motor/cylinder temps, they are not as bad as one might think. Check this thread. If you have a reading on your temputures, post them. http://www.buggynews.com/topic13642.html?highlight=head%20temps _________________ 3206 yerf. too many mods to list. easier to list what has not been modified- seats and steering wheel. plus one set of kidinme's hand made special collectors edition fuzzy dice
My Twister Hammerhead 150 came with an oil cooler installed. I have not had any problems out of it. Not sure if your looking at the same design as TJ Hammedhead on the 150, but Like I said no problems. My oil filter is connected to it so the oil has to be pumped through it and back to the engine. Can't imagine this wouldn't help in engine temps....How much? and is it worth 200$....? Good question. I do know I can run mine wide open for long periods of time without any power loss due to heat.
Couldn't tell you if it helps or not since mine has has always had it. I was concerned at first about it's location (at bottom of frame) but after all the stuff I ran over at St. Joes...pretty well secure I guess. If something goes wrong with the one that's on the buggy now.....I will replace it! _________________ 2006 Twister 150

The original admin, Hopsterguy (RIP) Installed a twister styled one on his KPX Xterro, and it worked fine with no problems, he did have to take his case very apart to get it to work, said it was alot of work.
If you want one that bad, just buy a twister Gy6 _________________ '04 Manco 906c
