Well after several yrs, my stock rubber intake started showing cracks, so I decided to upgrade to one of the aluminum intakes.
The problem is that these aluminum intakes will not fit most 150cc karts without some modifications. With these intakes, the carb is moved back about 5/8" and the carb bowl will hit the long motor mount bolt. Solution was to remove the long bolt and replace with 2 short bolts on each side. Also the wiring that was tie-wrapped to the bottom of the crossbar had to be moved. I also removed the plastic insulator that was between the old intake and the head. The carb still tends to be a little bit high and the air filter intake will hit the cross-member, but I just pushed down a little on the carb and slide my "drain pipe" in and tightened.
Are you using the stock carb? what are those 24mm or something like that? _________________ Baja Reaction 150 ~ Uni Filter ~ 128 Jet ~ NGK Iridium Plug
ricduncan, i just did the new intake mod to my blade 150 about a month ago before i went home to cali. i also replaced the long motor mount bolt with 2 grad A bolts from HD and cut back the rubber just a tad to move the carb closer to the intake. kind of a pain to push down on the carb to get my snorkle hose on there but it works. those look exaclty like the pics i took when i did mine. _________________ Blade 150DX
