1. Wife wanted to go back to smaller SxS type vehicle....
2. I wasn't too reluctant because the 1100 was a little too big for the mountain trails.........But great in the desert....
Now IF there was a Joyner 650 Spyder with the 800cc motor, I think I could have convinced her to keep it because she did enjoy driving my bro-in-laws (smaller) Spyder.....
I am now looking at the SxS vehicles and would much rather have a buggy......I had a Rhino before and enjoy the buggy style better....
Joyner has listened to the consumer somewhat and made changes to the 800/1100 buggy.....It appears that we the consumer can be influential....Now how about the Spyder ??? Market it as the "Woodsman" model with the 800cc motor....I think it would sell well across the country and Europe....And I for one would convince my wife that it was the way to go.....
What are the "wants" from the big buggy crowd ??? _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two are dead"

Go Polaris RZR, you won't look back.
I know what you mean though about the buggy style, low to the ground, won't tip over easy.
But nobody makes one that is small and powerful without the width, reliability and price.
As you know I tried the Joyner Trooper, way to big and heavy and mucho problems.
The RZR is so much fun, if you can find a dealer that can keep one in stock go for it.
You will be amazed how roomy and smooth it rides and only 50" wide. And when you hit the gas its gone... _________________ 08 Polaris RZR!

Heh, I do know what you are talking about....I'm torn between the RZR and Teryx......I LOVE that v-twin motor.....
I made the mistake years ago of passing on the Drakart with a Honda industrial v-twin engine....Single seater but still very nice and sounded GREAT........... _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two are dead"

I checked out the Teryx also, same v-twin that's in my Prairie, great engine, wish they went EFI on it.
But the Teryx seemed huge just sitting in it, even bigger than the Rhino.
The RZR twin is quit smooth running also, at least much better than the Rhino was as far as noise and vibration. _________________ 08 Polaris RZR!

at one point there was a joyner 650 ss with a geo metro drive train on craigs but it gone now that would have been sweet he was asking like 5500 for it _________________ 06 joyner 250 sand viper, red metallic..blue clutch spring 17 gram sliders
I think the 650SS is limited by gearing. If you could get a dual range transmission or a creeper first gear, it would do great in many more types of terrain. EFI in the 650 would also help with consistent power at varying elevations. Would I welcome a larger engine in the same chassis? Yes.
If I could change anything about the chassis, cut the length by a foot by relocating the fuel tank (under the seats?) and tuck in the nose. By keeping it under 8.5', it could be trailered sideways and without rear over hang would not bottom on rough terrain. _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

I have two 650's one is stock the other is a turbo'd. Wow what a difference. I am from the Vegas area as well Showa. That is why I like and chose the smaller 650 style chassis. but wanted the higher HP of the larger engine, but nothing was available, in the buggy style chassis, so I opted for the turbo. Man what a difference from the stocker. Slam a turbo on the 650 and go have some fun. It pulls my wife and I fast enough for her to knock the $hit outta me when I nail it. It fits the quad trails and has enough power to keep me grinnin'. I would say that the power to weight ratio is very simular to the larger frame buggies. The RZR was fun, but I don't like the high center of gravity feel, I prefer my butt closer to the ground except when I am launching off of a jump. (watch for rocks on the landing the rims and tires don't respond well to them... see my thread alittle farther down in this forum *"Just bought some fun") Just my two pennies worth. See ya out there.
